Last Friday, Cate Blanchett received her second Outstanding Performer of the Year Award from Santa Barbara International Film Festival. She first received the award in 2014 for her performance in Blue Jasmine, and in 2008, she was first honored by SBIFF with the Maltin Modern Master Award which is the film festival’s highest award. You can watch the full conversation and speech below. Todd Field presented the award and said that Blanchett is “one the greatest actors who’s ever lived”.
Cate also attended the Film Independent Spirit Awards Nominees brunch on Saturday. On Monday, The Academy is holding their annual nominees luncheon, and Cate will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live! which airs on ABC, 23:35PM EST.

I remain in perfect admiration for this beautiful and so clever woman, who has climbed step by step the long staircase leading to her current success. She is for me a model of perseverance, patience, courage, hard work… an example for every human being.
